From Dimples to Doughnuts: It's all in the DNA
This is an interactive program designed for people ages 9 to adult.

Since the inception of the Human Genome Project, scientific curiosity has increased in the areas of cloning, forensic identification, environmental cleanup, disease resistant plants and animals, gene therapy, diagnosing diseases, and organ transplants. This "new genetics" information brings with it many new concerns.

Linda Davis is a former high school biology teacher with over 30 years experience. She was selected for a project sponsored by the Department of Energy and the National Institute of Health which encouraged teachers to dispense the most current research about the Human Genome Project. The important aspects of the Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications of this genome project can be shared through an entertaining, lively, and interactive program. Linda focuses her presentation on providing interactive involvement of unraveling the genetic basis of heredity, DNA, from cells. She also intertwines her biology background about DNA with 3D models and displays while enabling all participants the opportunity to ask questions.

This opportunity is unique. Linda will work with any group or organization to modify the program to benefit those who participate. The most advantageous part of her program is that everyone is actively engaged. Therefore enrollment is limited.
